We've officially got ourselves a motley trio of terrific weirdos thanks to some roommate auditions that culminated in the appearance of Blarf. Now, as they adjust to life together, Gloom wants to know more about what exactly Hester and Blarf can do.

It's just so beautiful to see our three fiends become friends! Well, uhh, kinda friends... right? Definitely roommates, maybe friends. I'll settle for that.

Anyhoo, what's new with you? Here in California we're truly living the pandemic life, shut inside all day and hiding out from each other. It's crazy. I hope wherever you are, you're safe and your loved ones are safe.

Before I wrap this up, I wanna give a shoutout to my awesome collaborator Nils-Petter Norlin. This chapter is, to me, a shining example of his fantastic artistry and well-honed humor. I hope you felt the same way too after reading it!

Hester and Gloom's friendship got off to a shaky start in East Megaville Park, but their acrimonious introduction quickly became a fortuitous union. Now it's time for them to fill the final room in their apartment, but uhhhh this isn't gonna be your standard rental application, knowhutimean?

I don't wanna speak too soon but I think this could be a real step up for our ol' alien buddy. Same goes for our banished prince and our college dropout. Gloom found roommates (albeit not as cool as in his dreams), Hester escaped those jerky marmots, and Blarf can finally live indoors with actual plumbing!

Anyway, now that our crew is all under the same roof, Hester, Gloom, and Blarf will learn a lil more about each other in a chapter we like to call "Team Meeting"!

TWO OF OUR MAINS FINALLY MET!!! Nils and I had a vision many years ago for three short stories about not-so-super villains. That vision kept expanding and expanding until we had sprawling backstories for all three of them. Well, those backstories are finally over and now it's time for us to get the team together!

In related news, I got a printer last month and that means I'm working on some minicomics of The Evil Life (along with my next top secret collaboration with Nils). The print test of our first three chapters was a success after a little experimentation, and I'll keep you updated as I continue to make these better and better.
