Green Thursdays - Wig Lantern

This Green Thursdays is inspired by two different things.

First up is Give Me Back My Wig by Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers. It's a boogie blues song by the masters of funky, sloppy electric blues. Great stuff.

Second up is an experience from my teenage years. Back in the 90s, wig companies used to offer free "wig previews" -- you send them a photo of your face, and they'd use whatever old school image editing program they used back then to make a digital print out of you "trying on" four of the wigs. My friend Josiah sent away for one of those freebies, and I'll tell you what...

He looked damn good in those wigs. My favorite was the curly blonde.

Check out the Stick Cats #4 teaser... there're a few differences between the strip as it was drawn and the one you see posted here.

Also I'll be giving out FREE Stick Cats maxi-comics this Saturday, May 7th at Phantom of the Attic Comics in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood (for Free Comic Book Day 2011). So swing by the store in the afternoon hours to say hi and snag your copy!

BTW, you can now "LIKE" Stick Cats on Facebook. Why you would, I have no idea. But at least you have the option.

I'm running a little behind on Stick Cats this week, but I want to share the raw scan of #4 with you because I think it looks badass with the spiral binding still on the side:

Like last week, there'll be some differences between the this teaser version of the strip and the final version. So keep your eyes peeled for the differences when I post the finished Stick Cats #4 soon!
