My ongoing email shenanigans reached a new level today. After being mistaken for a journalist, I decided to actually go through with a PR rep's request and write her a goddamned article. It was picked up by a news blog called ANIMAL:
Go there to check out the full email conversation AND read my ridiculous interview with Ian Bobo, who was super cool about my weird line of questioning.
But there's more...
In the process of putting the finishing touches on that article for ANIMAL, I discovered something deliciously ironic: Edna contacted me last year and I already told her she emailed the wrong Nick Marino!
Edna never replied. Either she didn't believe me or didn't give a shit because 10 months later she emailed me another article request and now the rest is history!
Sometimes getting emails meant for another Nick Marino can be a nuisance. But then other times, like this time, it can be a complete joy.
Arline (whose name has been changed and face has been erased) contacted me shortly before Valentine's Day.
I thought for sure that she'd pick up on my true identity almost immediately. But instead she basically willed herself into believing I was her Nick Marino for over a week.
I've decided to stop my email exchange with Arline and just let things go out on a high note. I don't think I'll ever be able to top this one.
